Indian Ferro Silicon Prices

Indian ferrosilicon prices have been falling since April due to weak market demand. Last week, the price of ferrosilicon fell by Rs 3,400/tonne due to buyer counter-offers. At present, Guwahati (Guwahati) ferrosilicon factory reported about 141,600 rupees / ton, Bhutan ferrosilicon prices remained stable, at about 144,000 rupees / ton, and the price was basically the same as the beginning of the month, but there are also sellers who lowered their offers to attract bulk orders.

In the case of the downturn in the stainless steel market, the steel mill side only purchases raw materials on demand. At the same time, traders are reluctant to buy in advance. Therefore, low demand has led to a decline in prices.

Since April, some steel mills have expected prices to fall, so they have postponed ferrosilicon procurement. This also leads to less demand.

Overall, weak demand coupled with the pessimism of the stainless steel market, ferrosilicon prices are still under pressure this week. However, in the case of tight supply, the following three factors may push up prices: First, the amount of tenders allocated by the government has increased. Second, producers in Meghalaya face continuous production cuts; third, demand recovers.
